Ribless
If you’ve not gathered from the title… I am now minus some of my 6th rib on the right! (God I hope nobody is coming to get me as I have literally just posted my weak spot). I’m still chilling in hospital writing this (actually I’m hooked up to a nebuliser, tucked up in bed whilst waiting for the Traitors final to come on.

Chilling might not be the most accurate word. I also apologise if I don’t make sense as I am still enjoying the hospitals drug supply.
Today has been a busy day! I’ve had a 10 visitors (not at once!) and I’m pretty sure the ward clerk is fuming and doesn’t wanna see another Radiographer or child walk past towards my room. Thanks to all my work darlings for keeping me company and well supplied and of course my darling Ry and boys 🩷. Although, the boys came in their Halloween costumes today and scared the shit out of me (pic below) 🙈☠️

I went down for surgery about 1pm on Weds after been admitted at 7am and have only just about landed back in the land of the living. I don’t remember much of Wednesday after walking into the theatre apart from seeing Ryan and one of the Radiographers (Ellie) in recovery.
The morning was a weird one. There was me and all these other ladies sat there in a room waiting for the chopping block and then we all said goodbye to each other like we’d known each other when someone else got wheeled off.
Surgery went well
The surgeon has been into see me today and has said surgery has gone well which is amazing. He said they had tried to do it keyhole with cameras but ended up opening me up because they couldn’t get to the bit they needed to which explains the amount of holes in my chest! I woke up with a drain in the wound but that came out yesterday (one less thing to traipse round or accidentally pull out ) and Ive had another X-ray to check I was still ok once it was out (cheers!). I’ve had physio come up the last 2 days to get me moving and have managed to walk to the end of the corridor both days whoop! Yesterday I had the drip stand for support but today I only had the physio carrying my bag of wee (🤮) poor man.
Said bag of wee has also been evicted today too which is another big step! My bladder wouldn’t work after the first night so they had to put a catherter in but I can report it is back to normal now thankfully. Not that anyone cares about my wee tbh 🙈
Anyways I’m alive and still here to tell the tale. Ive got fresh pjs on today and ive had a little wash and feeling more human.

I’ve had a mad few weeks leading up to the surgery round allsorts of fun stuff which I’ll update soon. If I’m honest I’ve been that busy doing crazy stuff I’ve not had chance to sit and blog. That has now changed of course and I am resting for the foreseeable!
Just thought I would post a quick update - more coming soon 🙂
